Tecumseh Council Camp Birch Camp Staff Application

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for applying to work on the Summer Camp Staff of Tecumseh Council, Boy Scouts

of America. A summer spent at camp is one of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime. Everysuccessful summer camp owes its success to its camp staff. You could be part of the success this yearand join a great tradition that has been over a century in the making.

In 2014 Camp Birch will be operating three weeks of Boy Scout Camp, two weeks of Webelos Camp, and a week of Cub Scout Day Camp with a Resident Camp combined! We also offer a week of Challenge camp. All of which will be the same camp staff. We will have over forty camp staff positions to fill with the best candidates.

The minimum age for Summer Camp Staff employment is 15 years of age, (if you have been a CIT). Many positions require 18 or 21 years of age and additional training. Please review the list of summer positions before you finalize this application.

As you are applying to be a Staff Member, know that you are requesting a position on a winning team. As the summer progresses, you will be expected to share your ideas and suggestions to help make the camp experience come to life for the youth, adults, troops, crews and packs we serve. Our camps will be offering a Counselor in Training program for Scouts 14 years of age. Counselor in Training applicants should submit an application by May 1st.

Serving on Camp Birch Staff is also a huge challenge. Over 2,000 young people and their leaders will pass through the camp gates expecting a great adventure. The camp staff is thereto make their adventure the best that it can be. This can mean long hours, irksome tasks, and weighty responsibilities, but if kept in perspective, it will be fun. Before you complete and submit this application, ponder for a few moments why you want to be on Camp Staff.

Do you have valuable skills to offer? Are you mature enough and dedicated enough to offer cheerfulservice when deep inside you’d rather be in bed? Are you ready to accept responsibility for your ownactions – good and bad? Are experience, fellowship, and serving others more important to you than a salary? Are you ready for a highly challenging summer? Think about it! If you are ready to be amember of the camp staff, please submit this form as soon as possible. Camp Staff Interviews are heldthe beginning of January with some key adult staff positions being filled starting in November.
