Dallas Recreation Code of Conduct

I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for my child participating in youth sports by following this Code of conduct:

1. I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults.

2. I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.

3. I will refrain from “GRANDSTAND” coaching my child or other players during games & practices.

4. I (and my guest) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.

5. I (and my guest) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as harassing, taunting, and using profane language or gestures.

6. I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.

7. I will familiarize myself with the rules of the game and the policies of the league.

8. I will demand that my child treat all other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect.

9. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at all recreational and leisure facilities. Furthermore I will not arrive to a recreational facility or event under the influence of drugs, tobacco, or alcohol.

10. I will emphasize skill and development and practices and how they benefit my child over winning. I will also deemphasize games and competition in the younger age groups.

11. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront officials or coaches at any recreational facility.

If I fail to adhere to these guidelines I understand that I may be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:

· 1st offense: The Parent/Spectator/Coach/Player will be ejected and suspended from the recreational facility or event and not authorized to return for any reason until a two game suspension is served.

· 2nd offense: The Parent/Spectator/Coach/Player will be suspended for the rest of the season.

· Repeat offenders or The Parent/Spectator/Coach/Player who has more than 2 offenses in any case will be banned from participating in Town of Dallas Recreation programs or events.
