Amy Shelton called the meeting to order at 11:00am

Announcements:

* Book Drive update was given by Dottie Rager

* Community Giving Announcement - Ann Hudson gave examples of how our giving to this fund has helped others in the past. She announced that those wishing to make a donation may do so as a part of Open Enrollment next month or at

* Toner Recycling - Shauna Mason, Guy Brown &

Andrea George, Director of Sustainability and Environmental Mgmt gave an update on the new recycling launch. They informed us that $1.35 of each item placed in the recycling boxes will be donated back to Vanderbilt. Encouraged anyone who doesn’t have a donation box near them to pick one up and place it in your area. Last year, this effort earned Vanderbilt $3,000 and we hope that through our promotion, we can increase that number. Drop box locations and more information can be found at

* Amy Shelton gave Member Drive - "Relaunch" Update - Emailed Sergio Rizo this week to follow-up. One department has been identified which needs more representation and Amy will continue to work on this. Overall we are pleased with our meeting attendance this year.

* Needles & Pins - Myke Ondek gave an update on the upcoming 25th Annual event. Pizza Perfect will be the caterer. Volunteers are still needed to help work the dessert bar – please sign up for a 30 minute slot at

Guest Speaker(s):

* India Reddy, Director of Finance, Matt Stier, Executive Director updated us on the The Shade Tree Clinic, located in East Nashville and providing free care to the pediatric community who would in many cases go untreated. They continue to expand and have gone from providing only urgent care to now providing their patients with all around care and helping them get on track to obtaining insurance and more routine care. The Clinic is operated by upper level students who are volunteering their time to the project.

* Pat Flemminggave "Improving Safety in the Mobility of Patients with Neurological Deficits" -

- MCSAC Grant Update. Pat showed some slides telling us about their office and their work to prevent falls. She showed us some the equipment they use and the specific walker attachments which were purchased with the grant and they are able to provide to their patients to improve mobility and reduce the number of falls.

* Lucille Woodruff gave "Universal Language of Art" - MCSAC Grant Update. They are currently working with schools in Cheatham County to obtain the artwork to be on display.
