PURPOSE OF JOB / To provide a range of technical support and expertise with specific responsibilities for Reprographics.

JOB DESCRIPTION : REPROGRAPHICS TECHNICIAN

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WestfieldSportsCollege is a very large 11-18 comprehensive school. The provision and continuing development of the School’s Reprographics service is fundamental to its future effectiveness and success.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of a photocopying and scanning service for all areas of the School.
  • Ensure a preventative maintenance programme is adhered to so helping maintain safe working practices and conditions.
  • To liaise with the photocopier engineering in case of failures to operate.
  • Maintain the staff room copier e.g. toner, paper etc.
  • To oversee the operation of all other photocopiers in School.
  • Make documents e.g. booklets and planners.
  • Laminate and binding documents as required.
  • Monitor usage of copier machines and prepare amounts to be recharged to service areas on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain a stock level ordering system for the stores of stationery relating to reprographics in an effective manner.
  • To regularly clean and maintain all copiers in school and ensure that stock levels of paper are monitored.
  • To prepare stationery orders as required in line with budget availability.
  • Administer and record the issue of stationery requests for staff.
  • To complete the monthly copyright return and maintain general copyright records.
  • To operate established and new technology based equipment as required.
  • To increase awareness of ‘corporate image’ to staff and provide advice on layout of documents.
  • To develop service provision to students.
  • To raise awareness of staff with regard to use of machines and the costing of alternatives.
  • To undertake recognised training as necessary in accordance with a planned programme of development.
  • To ensure a healthy and safe working environment and compliance with healthy and safe working practices.
  • Keep work places, store areas clean and tidy.
  • Assist with distribution of goods and equipment.
  • Ensure that equipment / apparatus is kept clean and in good condition.

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person

  • Any other duties and responsibilities that do not change the character and purpose of this post as may be required by the Headteacher.
