Scholarship Application

[Two $500.00 scholarships will be awarded]

Qualifications:

  1. Applicant must be a current Harford County High School Senior and served as a tribe leader or counselor for the Harford county 4-H Camp.
  2. Applicant must be entering his/her freshmen year in college in the Fall of 2012.
  3. Applicant must complete an application that includes an essay on his/her participation at the Harford County 4-H Camp, the impact of their experience and how this scholarship will help in the achievement of the applicant’s career goals.
  4. Applicant must include two letters of recommendation with the completed application.
  5. Applicant should make him or herself available to be recognized before the Livestock Sale at the Harford County Farm Fair.

Procedures:

  1. Applications must be complete and typed. Extra pages should be stapled in order.
  2. Deadline for application and recommendations receipt is July 1, 2012.
  3. The essay is not to exceed two double-spaced typed pages and must answer the question: How have you demonstrated leadership in the 4-H spirit through your participation and experiences at the Harford County 4-H Camp?
  4. Signed letters of recommendation from any two of the following should be attached:

a)School Principal, Instructor or Counselor

b)County 4-H Educator or FFA Advisor

c)4-H leader

d)Elected County or State Official

e)Religious Minister or Church Youth Advisor

  1. Copies of the applicant’s most recent High School transcript and any other relevant information pertaining to education should be attached last.
  2. Completed applications and recommendations must be mailed together to:

  1. Applicants who are awarded the scholarship must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university by sending that proof to the Harford County 4-H Clubs, Inc., by September 1, 2012
