Monday, August27: Introduction & general typology.

Goal: to give an idea of the typology of different CESS activities, similarities, strengths, limits. Presentation of the ECEN grid.

All the participants will present their CESS activities, motivations and core questions.

Goal: to be able to compare the strengths and limits of each method, foundation level, and contexts of use.

Goal: to analyze the role, aim and challenge of patients/proxies.

Discussion of 2 cases, illustrating the following issues:

  • Autonomy and evaluation of competency
  • Family/proxies request for futile care

The full group will be divided into subgroups, each of them will discuss the two cases, coordinated by the ECEN teachers.
