Agenda:
Principals Report-Dr. Schuck
Staff Dev Day today…phonemic awareness
Coordinating activities systematically across campus…teacher collaboration
Smartboard in D-5….they had a chance to use it today and enjoyed!
Focus energy in April staff development on star testing
Dr. Schuck met with Joel Soleil…there might be some money for smartboards going forward in other classrooms. Thanks to the tech committee for purchasing and extra one and moving the cause forward!
Site council meeting is tomorrow…will review funds avail and what focus should be for them.
School Board Meeting is on Thursday night…Board will be looking at Budget cuts unfortunately….discussions maybe be parcel taxes, bonds, selling/leasing properties; March 8 is next meeting and that would be where they would make decisions
Teachers Report-Diana and Peggy
They are happy about the $200
Presentation by Playworks was very well received by staff; was very comprehensive and explained how they came to that decision.
Teachers are feeling like there is more communication between staff and PTO as a result of teachers coming to the meeting. Keep it up!
Treasurer’s Report- Freya reporting for Liz Osborne
Money still coming in: doing another round of sweatshirts
Overcharge from last year has been remedied…we are splitting the difference which will run us about $1200.
Our voluntary tuition numbers are higher at this point this year than they were last year.
Waiting to see what we get from auction and maybe another voluntary tuition drive in April
Sarah to put notice in the Splash that another sweatshirt opportunity is coming…
Jennifer Islander is still going to run Original Art….currently in the teachers hands now…there will be another round in the spring around moms/dads day…

Ticket price up to $30 before, $40 at door…tickets are available now…
March 13th at 1 pm pre-auction party at the school…can bid on teacher projects….
Maybe all the kids can dress in green and have a theme day?
This Thursday they are meeting re donations and will have a better idea of what we have/still need to try to bring in…
Caroline would like PTO to bring in some donations if they know anyone who has a business, second home etc that they would be willing to make available.
Genevra is overseeing classroom donations…thanks Genevra!
Leadership kids to make posters and also speaking in the classrooms about the auction
Big donation we recvd…Gwnedolyn’s stepdad has donated his Mercedes to be sold at the auction-Question is do we do a drawing raffle style or auction it off…can sell tickets…
Do have some great donations coming in…tour of the tunnel for 8, orthodontist is donating $2500 worth of work, terrarium making party, cookie baking with Ms. V..cabin donations, Tahoe, sailing lessons at the Yacht Club, Miramar BnB…Costanera GC, Gibraltar,
We are going to have to spend more on food this year…Joy Portelli is the caterer.
Auction layout will be a bit different this year…per the theme
Fund A Need….playground and technology are the key items…Going to focus on “fund a smartboard”…or smartboards…we need further discussion on Fund a Need …
