R.S.V.P./Attendance Policy:
Situation:
The goal here is to discourage people from arbitrarily signing up for games when it’s not a priority in their lives to build the loving relationships that our group desires and to limit the no-shows. For most of us, when we commit to a game night, we put it on our calendar and don’t let anything get in the way of that commitment. At different times between game nights, there are many women that would like to sign up to play bunko but the spots are all taken, well in advance of game night. Some ladies choose to use the waitlist & be put into a limbo situation with their personal calendars – their patience & attitude is greatly appreciated. However, there is a problem when people are repeatedly saying that they are coming & then repeatedly cancel.Even worse, is the ones that repeatedly don’t show up after r.s.v.p.ing on multiple occasions. In order to discourage people from hogging spots from the ones that really want to play, anr.s.v.p./attendance policy has been established.
Solution:
1)If you sign up for games in advance on the calendar & don’t show up on two occasions in a row (without notice), you will lose your ability to sign up for the next two game nights. Once you are allowed to sign up again, you will not be allowed to miss another game without 2 weeks notice that you are not able to attend. Missing the next game you r.s.v.p. for after the waiting period, emergency or not –you will be removed from being allowed to sign up for any future games unless something is personally worked out with the group organizer. Therefore, sign up if you are serious about playing. If you are unsure, please wait until a week or two before the next game and sign up then if you can commit to play. Note that if you have to be on the waitlist at that point, the organizer will do everything, in their power, to make sure that you are able to play.
2)If you were on the wait list, then confirmed by the organizer with less than 2 weeks notice, whether you reconfirm or not prior to game night – you will not be held to the above policy. Although it would be greatly appreciated if you would reconfirm that you will attend or not, once confirmed off of the waitlist, we understand that being in this limbo position is awkward and not convenient for anyone involved, including the organizer.
3)Last minute cancellations due to emergencies: obviously, emergencies do arise & these will not count against anyone as long as they don’t occur more than 2 times in a row of committing to play or twice in a four month period. The idea here, is to keep last minute emergency cancellations down to a minimum and to keep it from being abused.
