ACTION POINTS:

a)Thomas: organize the temporary warehouse staff to render effective service as per the needs of the Cluster.

b) Cluster members agreed to bring forward the meeting to 17:30 due to security concerns.

c) Urban and Coca Ye: ensure that the daily flight and boat schedulesare communicated to Cluster members out of Caia respectively.

d) UNHAS(Urban): to liaise properly with partners and agree on the locations for helicopter deliveries.

e) WFP(Raul): in collaboration with partners work out how the food for subsequent distributions is properly stored at the locations. Alternatively, load the chopper to its capacity with just the food needed combined with other cargo.

f) Gerry: write letter to INGC requesting the use of their boats for the Cluster.

1.AIROPS (Helicopters).(Urban). There’s a possibility that the second chopper will stay till the 19th March.

12rotations of 32.9 tons of cargo transported.

-2 rotations, 1 to Mutarara and another to Mopeia with NFIs on behalf of Unicef.

-5 rotations to Jardim with WFP food.

-10 rotations; 5 to Jardim and 5 to Inhangoma with WFP food.

Tomorrow’s operations are as per the distributed proposed flight planto transport food to Jardim, Tambara and Doa Sede; NFIs to Inhangoma,

2.BOATS.

-30MT cannot get to Mutarara. The crew continues with the transshipment of cargo onto smaller boats for Mutarara.

-The rest of the boats are being loaded today.

Tomorrow:

-7.5T boat will leave with Unicef NFIs to Mutarara.

- 8 and 7MT will transport WFP food from Chola/Sena to Mutarara.

-2MT(SCF boat) will be used tomorrow and Friday by SCF.

-30MT barge will go to Marromeu on Saturday to transport WFP food and Concern cargo to Chinde as a Plan B to the use of the boat from the Sena company.

3. TRUCKS. (Leon Claasen).

-the trucks were loading the choppers and boats.

For tomorrow:4trucks to Chola, 2 to Marromeuwith WFP food.

-1 truck to Tambara with NFIs for the Mozambican Red Cross.

4.WAREHOUSING. (Thomas Goransson)

-continues receiving food cargo from Chimoio and Beira.

CMR tracking sheet was distributed as usual.

5. VEHICLE MOVEMENT:

WFP:1 to Marromeu and another to Beira.

Unicef:Friday: 1, Beira-Caia, 1, Caia-Quelimane.

6. Miscellaneous:

-Some security measures have been put in place after the incident on Monday night when a WFP and SCF staff were attacked by robbers armed with machetes. The WFP staff (driver) was not harmed but the SCF staff got a cut on his arm.

-Gerry was in Mutarara on Tuesday and returned on Wednesday to facilitate the logistics meeting.

-explained what the log cluster was about.

-discussed log issues which were mainly due to lack of communication/sharing of information and the ways to improve the situation.

-the log meetings are at 9:00am in Mutarara. This is not a good time since staff are usually out in the field as early as 7:30. Gerry asked for the meeting to be put to the end of the day where there’s a chance of having a high attendance.

-there’s no excavator available in Mutarara to speed up the digging of the canal where the 60MT barge is stuck.
