GRADING
- All grades will be recorded as points, with the letter grade figured on the basis of percentage

out a grade sheet for students.
SYLLABUS/ACTIVITIES
Our mission is to prepare 8th grade ELA students for academic and “real world” success. Reading, writing, communication and critical thinking are all vital skills necessary for a student’s future, no matter what road they take. We will sharpen these skills through: shorts stories, poetry, novels, informational reading materials, wordly wise, activities, independent reading, on demand writing, and grammar.
HOMEWORK
One key to earning the grade you want is to begin the year with a clear goal of doing well, getting and staying organized, turning in all assignments, and seeking help when you don’t understand something presented in class.
Turning in homework late is unacceptable. Unless you have been absent or had an emergency occur, late work will not be accepted and you will receive a 0. ACMS offers ESS Monday thru Thursday afternoons from 3-4 pm.
