Please consider my application for the position of Director on the CFSP board.

CFSP Board of Directors Open Position

Linda Burdick, EdS, is dual licensed School Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor. After 20 years in the public school system, the first half as a Special Education Teacher, then second half as a School Psychologist, she is now working for a nonprofit organization providing in home therapy for Medicaid clients. She has extensive experience with writing and managing matching funds grants for a national multi million dollar nonprofit organization that supports Education, Patriotism, and Historical Preservation. She served her school district department obtaining major gifts for the mental health professionals’ end of the year celebration. She has over twenty years experience volunteering with various community organisations, including public relations and assisting with fundraising events. She paid for all three degrees without student loans by working as the manager for the family business and for the universities. Last and most importantly, she is currently serving as the Treasurer for CFSP.

Marjorie GreferCloninger, Ph.D. is a first year school psychologist serving multiple schools in Lexington School District One in South Carolina. She obtained her Ph.D. and M.A. in School Psychology from the University of South Carolina and her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Kentucky. Over the past 5 years, Marjorie has served as consultant or provider at private practices, non-profits, and residential facilities, participated in nationally funded research projects, published in peer-reviewed journals, and taught undergraduate courses in Psychology at the university and technical college levels. She is an active member and volunteer in local and national organizations. She currently serves as the Vice President on the board of directors for Camp M.A.T.E.S., a summer program providing social skill, physical activity, and nutrition instruction and support to children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, and other behavioral disorders. Previously, she has also served on various committees in service to her profession. Marjorie has been a member of the Children’s Fund for one year and was awarded a Mental Health Grant from CFSP in 2016.

E. Jeanne Pound

BIO

Jeanne is completing her second term as a Director of the Children's Fund and seeks your support regarding a third term. Committed to the Children's Fund's mission and to its longevity, Jeanne has served as President the past two plus years during the restructuring of the organization. In addition, she is currently serving as the Auction Co-Chair. During her two terms as a Director, she has also served as Vice President (1 year), Secretary (4 years) and Basic Needs and Mental Health Grants Chair (3 years).

NASP leadership roles have included Georgia Delegate (2 terms), a member of the National School Psychology Certification Board, Awards Co-Chair, member of the Government and Professional Relations Committee, State SPAN Contact, and State Credentialing Point Person. In the Georgia Association of School Psychologists, Jeanne has served as President, Awards Chair, Legislative Committee Chair, and Regional Representative.

Biographical Information – Lynne Thies, Ph.D., NCSP

Candidate for Director, Children’s Fund of School Psychology, Inc.

Lynne Thies has worked in the field of education for the past 43 years; first as a special education teacher and then as a school psychologist and part-time professor of school psychology. During this time, Lynne has been an active participant in the leadership of both state and national professional organizations, beginning with the ACLD (Association for Children with Learning Disabilities) chapter in the community where she worked as a teacher back in the mid-1970s. Regarding school psychology leadership, Lynne has served on the boards of her local county psychology organization, the state school psychology association (NYASP), as well as NASP.

Lynne received her B.A. degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Johns Hopkins University and a M.A. in Special Education from George Washington University. After working as an elementary school resource room in Moberly, Missouri for four years, Lynne returned to school at New York University in a Ph.D. program in School Psychology. As part of her doctoral training, Lynne completed an internship in pediatric neuropsychology at North Shore Hospital, Manhasset, NY. To further her school-based training, Lynne completed a Professional Diploma training program in Educational Administration.

Lynne spent 32 years as a building-based school psychologist, working in two different school districts in the suburban NYC area. She began teaching as an adjunct faculty member in school psychology graduate programs shortly after completing her Ph.D., and she continues to do so, having taught at four different universities in the NYC area.

Regarding community and volunteer involvement, Lynne spent many years volunteering with local school-based PTA groups and served as co-chairs of two district-wide committees: one that focused on legislative issues impacting schools and the other that focused on the needs of gifted and talented students. Lynne was a representative to and officer of the community’s district-wide PTA. Lynne volunteered with a “mother-child” program where individuals visited homes of needy families with preschool children and brought books and educational toys to “demonstrate” for the parent. When working as a teacher, Lynne was instrumental in obtaining a grant from the local Kiwanis chapter in order to provide a summer program for students in need of academic support.
