FLAEYC 2017 Annual Conference Update

The 2017 Annual Conference has been rescheduled and will be held December 7- 10, at the Rosen Shingle Creek, Orlando, FL, including the following specific dates and activities:

  • Thursday, December 7: Leadership Summit
  • Friday, December 8 through Sunday, December 10: Annual Conference
  • All Special Events will still be held as planned, including: 1) Thursday Evening 60th Anniversary Reception;2) Friday Advocacy Awards Luncheon; 3) Friday Evening Florida Forward- the NEW FLAEYC Celebration; 4) Saturday Annual Meeting and Membership Breakfast.
  • The Exhibit Hall will be open from Friday Morning through Saturday Afternoon, including the door prizes, Silent Auction, Lucky Fortune and Exhibit Exposition.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION INFORMATION

All current registrations will be applied to the December conference.

The Conference Registration website will be live on the FLAEYC website beginning Wednesday, September 20th. This website will accept new registrations and also process any transfers of people who will attend and cancellations following the FLAEYC Conference Cancellation Policy.

HOTEL RESERVATION INFORMATION

Due to the Conference Rescheduling, the hotel reservations for the week of September 12-17 have been cancelled by the Rosen Shingle Creek.

However, the original reduced rate of $139 a night will be in effect for the December 7-10 Conference and the Hotel Reservation website will be live on the FLAEYC website, beginning Wednesday, September 20.

CONFERENCE DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION

We have had several inquiries regarding the reason for cancellation and rescheduling of the Conference to the month of December. This difficult decision was made by the FLAEYC Board of Directors in consideration of the potential impact of Hurricane Irma and after consultation with the Rosen Shingle Creek, whose management was committed to FLAEYC’s goal of providing a top-class conference to our members and friends.

December was the only month that was available for our conference, due to the fact that the winter and early spring months (January, February, March and April) are the prime time for conferences in Orlando and, in fact, the hotel had no space available during these months.

We have been in communication with our presenters, exhibitors and sponsors and are asking that they let us know if they will still be able to join us. After we have that information, we will work to rework the schedule, filling in the blanks as needed. We also understand that December is a very busy time with child care programs and we regret if you won’t be able to join us for this year’s conference. If you aren’t able to join us this year, we do hope you will plan on joining us next year for the 2018 Annual Conference.
