CONVENE Call to Order, Roll Call, Establish Quorum, Moment of Reflection/ Pledge of Allegiance
The regular meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by President Hayes at 5:00 p.m.
Roll Call was as follows:
Members present: Everson, Jones, Jurgella, Nagle, Strand, Hayes.
Administrative staff members present: Sebert, Brockert, Lewis, Sheridan, Simon, Williams, Hagen.
Prior to the Pledge of Allegiance, the Board observed a Moment of Reflection.
The Pledge was led by Angela Miller, Allison Schultz, and Courtney Blanck, students at Fondy Central. The students were accompanied by teacher Linda Tack. Following the Pledge the students each shared what they like about attending Fondy Central.
ANNOUNCEMENTS/
COMMUNICATIONS 1. President Hayes read a proclamation authored by State
Superintendent Tony Evers acknowledging January 12-16,
2015 as Wisconsin Adult School Crossing Guard Recognition Week.
2. President Hayes recognized John Williams for his receipt of the Workers’ Compensation Specialist Certificate.
3. President Hayes announced that following adjournment of the regular meeting, the Board will convene in a workshop to discuss the high school ACT/WorkKeys Preparation, followed by an executive session to consider student expulsions as provided for in Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(a) and (f).

1. December Financial Statement – Accepted and its publication authorized.
2. Current Expenses - To approve bills of the Board of Education in the amount of $9,670,527.68 and to have warrants drawn for their payment.
C. Human Resources Approval:
1. Employment Recommendation – Effective the second semester of the 2014-15 school year: Kelsey Petersen, 1.0 FTE EBD teacher at Fond du Lac High School, at Level 1 and Brian Skweres, 1.0 FTE EBD teacher at Fond du Lac High School, at Level 1.

School Assistant Principal MOTION BY Everson, seconded Jones to accept the resignation of Jill Mussett, Assistant Principal at Sabish Middle School, effective at the end of the day, January 16, 2015, and that the Board express its appreciation for her contributions and service to the District these past 1.5 years. MOTION CARRIED, ayes six, absent and not voting one (Nett).

Enrollment Timeline Dr. Sebert reported that the 2015-16 open enrollment timeline runs from February 2 through April 30, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

Recommended Resolutions President Hayes reviewed the recommended WASB resolutions.
Student/Staff Activities Mr. Strand visited Mrs. Gedemer’s second grade class at Lakeshore Elementary School.
President Hayes attended the Night of Silence in December.

CALL TO ORDER A workshop of the Board of Education was called to order by President Hayes at 6:04 p.m.

DISCUSS HIGH SCHOOL ACT/
WORK KEYS PREPARATION The Board discussed preparation for the ACT/WorkKeys assessment at Fond du Lac High School scheduled for March 3 and 4, 2015.
ADJOURNMENT MOTION BY Nagle, seconded Jones the Board of Education adjourn the workshop and convene in an executive session to consider student expulsions as provided for in Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(a) and (f):
“(a) Deliberating concerning a case which was the subject of any judicial or quasi-judicial trial or hearing before that governmental body.”

“(f) Considering financial, medical, social, or personal histories or disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific personnel problems or the investigation of charges against specific persons except where par. (b) applies which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations.”
MOTION CARRIED, ayes six, absent and not voting one (Nett). The workshop adjourned at 6:30 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER An executive session of the Board of Education was called to order by President Hayes at 6:31 p.m.

EXPULSIONS The Board considered two student expulsions.
Student Expulsion#4
As a result of a hearing conducted on December 16, 2014 and pursuant to the Order of the Independent Hearing Officer, MOTION BY Nagle, seconded Everson the Board of Education modify as follows the expulsion order for:
· Student Expulsion #4, Fond du Lac High School, 2014-15
to expel through the 2017-18 school year, with no early return.
MOTION FAILED, ayes two, nays four (Hayes, Strand, Jones, Jurgella), absent and not voting one (Nett).
MOTION BY Jurgella, seconded Jones to modify as follows the expulsion order for:
· Student Expulsion #4, Fond du Lac High School, 2014-15.
to expel through the 2016-17 school year, with possible early return in the fall of 2016.
