The Market Challenge Teams
As an Enterprise Challenge, the Step up Market Challenge has been drawing in teams all across Bradford to try selling a product efficiently. Groups have been spending time thinking of an idea, business model, and a way to convince the Dragons to give their product the investment they need to then take their product to the market and test to see if the product will sell. This article will look into some of the groups about their business model and product and how they have thought about the plan to sell the product.
Art Attract
ART ATTRACT has come up with the idea of making two packages Face painting and Personalised Fairy Cakes kits and Black Henna Tattoos and Strawberry and Cream Dessert. They have come up with two different types of the kit, one is the Kiddies Package and the other is the Adult Package and both consist of different products in packages but still follow the same category.
Buttershaw Angels
The Buttershaw Angels have decided that they would like to sell up-cycled bottle cap items. They will make fridge magnets, coasters and lockets made out of beer bottle caps. The Buttershaw Angels are not only a team but a volunteer group that supports the Halifax food and support Drop in Centre. They have raised up to £200 for the centre to be able to send food parcels for people who live in poverty or people who are having a hard time.
The Dragons have given these 2 groups as well as the other groups an investment of £100 to develop their business idea and use the allocated money for the products they plan to make and sell on the 7th of July on the Bradford Market on Darley Street. The groups will be competing for the cash prize of £250 for the team that makes the most profit and an extra £125 for the team with the most Innovative Product and Most Effective Marketing. There will also be a test trade for groups in Keighley who have food for their product on 20th or 21st of April as part of their Food Festival.
