World Cultures 4th Marking Period Project
Acrostic Writing
For your last project, you will be completing an acrostic writing assignment. An acrostic is a poem or other form of writing in which the first letter, syllable or word of each line, paragraph or other recurring feature in the text spells out a word or a message.
Your task will be to write an acrostic for “World Cultures: A Global Mosaic.” The acrostic writing is a way to show what you have learned this year. The first letter of each word must be connected to our studies (a person, place, event, or thing). For each letter you must include an appropriate picture and two sentences explaining your entry (the word).
Before you begin you may want to make a list of all things you have learned in World Cultures: (vocabulary terms, people, religions, places, events, themes)
The project must discuss the units we have studied in World Cultures, chapters 1-9 (Introduction, Africa, and South Asia: India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh) and chapters 25-28 (The Middle East) and chapters 15-16 (China).
Your project must reflect a year’s worth of learning in World Cultures.
