RE:Dealers 30-day Print on Demand Tag Bags
Last fall each county office should have received an order of plastic tag bags for use in protecting the print on demand 30-day permits. Quantities sent to each county included enough to supply dealerships in your county who did not receive a shipment. This is a one-time process to get them their initial supply.
Attached is a letter that is being mailed this same date to the dealerships needing to pick up tag bags from your office. Please read the letter and inform staff who would need to be prepared to assist with this process.
You will note the letter indicates the dealer is required to provide you with a PIN number which will serve as confirmation they are entitled to receive the tag bags. This is an important step in the process.
Please do not give out tag bags to a dealership who cannot tell you their PIN number as it could mean they have not signed up for print on demand. Also, please do not under any circumstances share or allow your staff to share these PIN numbers with anyone, including dealerships.
To support the role of confirming the PIN numbers associated with each dealership, also attached is a listing of every dealership currently loaded into the dealer portal and their PIN number associated with each dealership. Note each license number has a separate PIN and in order for the dealer who owns more than one dealership to obtain tag bags for each dealership he owns, a separate letter and corresponding PIN will need to be provided for each dealership/license number.
When the dealer presents the letter with a properly recorded PIN number written on it, please track which dealerships have picked up bags from your office. You can do so by marking them off the list of PIN number if you wish. We will not have supply to support dealerships returning multiple times with a letter to pick up tag bags to stock their supply.
