Mission:

The Association of Junior Leagues international, Inc. (AJLI) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The Junior League of Lynchburg, VA, Inc. (JLL) accepts requests for funds made available in the form of a grant to support projects and programs in our community. Grants are only given to tax-exempt organizations and institutions that have received a 501(c)(3) classification from the IRS.

Submittal: Written requests must be received no later than October 29, 2014. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered.

The Junior League of Lynchburg has $4,000 to award to community projects. Proposal budgets should range from $500-$1,000. Please note the JLL does not make loans or provide grants to individuals for any purpose. All grants are made on the condition the money will be used only for the purpose for which it was provided. Notification will be made by February 2015.

Preference will be given to those projects which support the Junior League of Lynchburg’s primary focus. More information is available on our website.

1.  Provide your agency’s mission statement.

2.  Describe the program or project for which you are requesting funds. Please specifically describe how the JLL funding will be used. If there are additional sources of financial support for this project, please describe.

3.  Who will be served by your program/project? What geographical area does the program serve? What is the age group? What is the approximate number of people to be served?

4.  Indicate the proposed time frame for your project?

5.  Has the JLL provided funding to your organization in the past? If yes, when and for what purpose?

6.  Provide one (1) copy of your 501 (c)(3) verification, one (1) copy of your most recent audited financial statement and any brochures regarding your organization’s existing programs.
