CourseAssessment: Spring 2013 Review
Please complete this form for every course offered in Spring 2013. Also include any courses not offered in Spring, but for which SLO activities occurred.
Summarize only what has already been completed as of the end of Spring 2013. On the last page of this form, we will ask about your tentative plans for future activities. (Submit what you have now. There's no requirement to cram in additional work at the end of the semester BEFORE completing this form.)
* Be sure there is ONLY ONE ENTRY per course.
* Everything entered on this form will be publicly available.
* Be sure the SLOs you use are from the course outline of record.
Helpful Hints:
1. ERROR MESSAGE when backing up to review entries?
If you back up to review a page while entering data, you might end up with an error message saying you can't proceed without completing the answers to all questions (which, of course, you've completed). If you encounter this error message, just back up all the way to the first page, and then move forward again, page by page, until you get to where you left off. This should solve the problem.
2. What are our editing options?
After you choose SUBMIT, as long as you keep your browser window open, you can go back and change your answers by choosing the "edit submission" link. Also, since a password is now required, and you login with your CCSFMail (Google) account (@mail.ccsf.edu), you will get a copy of your entry through email. You can follow the link in that email to return to your entry at any time and edit it again. Also, as with past versions of the form the most recent submission of a given course or service area is the one that will appear in the online data review.
3. To speed up entry time, please make sure you have everything you need with you (SLOs, data, meeting notes, etc.) before you begin entering data into the form.

Though you will retain the majority of your data and assessment details in your own records or on your department or program website, please provide a summary here, of the work you did in SPRING 2013 as part of the coordinated assessment effort of GE Area C:
"Apply models to explain the behavior of commonly occurring phenomena."
By translating your data to the standard rubric, your data will be collated and combined with data from other courses and used to complete a review of Area C courses and outcomes. Our highest priority in reviewing these data will be to share and address challenges and issues our students face in achieving proficiency. Many of those challenges are shared across all Area-C courses. Thank you for contributing your data and insights to this discussion. (In September, 2013, we will announce the Area-C work group meetings in which these data and issues will be discussed and reported to the college community. These will be open meetings.)
If you would like to review the rubric guidelines again (sent via email), please review them on the Area C GEO website:

4c. Enter the total number of students you assessed to be at the DEVELOPING stage for the GEO being assessed:(Students are developing an understanding of the model and the commonly occurring behaviors or phenomena it describes, but students cannot yet use the model to effectively make predictions or explain the behaviors or phenomena.)
4d. Enter the total number of students you assessed to be at the NO EVIDENCE stage for the GEO being assessed:(There is no evidence that students are aware of the model or the types of behaviors or phenomena that the model predicts or explains. (Includes students who didn’t complete the assessment.))
4e. Describe in more detail the criteria you used to determine the stage of your students.
4f. Provide any extra details or comments/notes not already captured in previous questions and answers.(We are especially interested in learning what challenges our students are facing inside and outside the classroom.
