I know that last week’s Nutshell was dated 8/4, but this is the real August 4, 2016 edition.
Today we had 12 Nutley Rotarians plus 2 guests, Linda Posternock and Amir Gamil, this year’s Rotary Scholar.
You’ll notice that Ben Costa is not listed as a guest and that is because he was inducted today as our newest member. Ben was inducted by President Walt Smith and President Elect Ro Costa.
Ben’s classification will be Travel Advisor. I will update our club roster soon with Ben’s info which is mostly the same as Ro’s. His cell # 862-371-3145. His office # is 973-798-2493
Our planned speaker did not arrive so we asked Amir to speak about what he has been doing this summer and when he will start college. Amir will be attending Rutgers-Newarktaking a Pre Med Curiculum.
John Dinan is back from Florida and he spoke about the conference he and Jane attended in Washington, DC. The recovery team spent 5 days and recovered some bone/tooth material as well as some personal object before the Monsoons started. John feels that there will not be any recovery again until 2018.

.August 10 - Camp Merry Heart Day. Check with Bob Peters if you want to join his caravan. He will leave from Clifton about 3 PM. Call to let him know you want to join him
August 11- Trip with Japanese Exchange Students to Pt. Pleasant. We need chaperones to join Dorothy Huey and her husband as volunteers for the day.
August 18 - Next evening meeting. We will be at The Bosphorus Restaurant at 6 pm.
September 28 - Columbus Day Parade dinner honoring award recipients. Our Sal Rosamilia was named Nutley's Man of The Year. We should attend the dinner to honor Sal. It will be at Nanina's. Price is $90 per person. Please let Bob Peters know if you want to attend.
October 5 - Tentative date for Teachers' Reception. This will be our 58th year hosting thisevent. This is probably a record and should be recognized by RI.
October 13 - DG will be joining us for lunch.
November 17 - Raffle drawing. It was decided half of the 50/50 will go toward the scholarship; the other half will be split 25/15/10. We have given out $312,000 in scholarships.
November 18 - Presidents' Ball/Foundation Ball at Mayfair Farms cost to members is $37.50 and 1 guest. Additional guests are $75 pp
