DISCUSSION/WORK SESSION
Dr. Jeffrey Bowen said he was pleased with how well some end-of-the year events went off, including an employee recognition program and commencement. Work will be proceeding on an annual report to recap 2007-08.
Dr. Bowen asked that the board authorize former president Heinke Lillenstein to continue helping to negotiate a new contract with the clerical union.
Business administrator Nicholas Silvaroli described an addition to the stadium project at the high school. Using the existing lights will cause shadows and other problems, so replacement has been recommended at a cost of $150,000. This can be achieved without additions to the project cost.
High school principal Mark Schultz said his offices are busy and crowded this summer with the addition of middle school staff on a temporary basis because of construction. However, things are running smoothly.
Director of Curriculum & Instruction Pamela Kattermann said her office is gearing up for a summer of professional development, which is based this year at Arcade Elementary.
