New Approaches to Aircraft Electrical Power System :

Come and fly through the decades of aircraft electrical power system architecture.

From the B-17 Flying Fortresses of World War II to the 707 and 747 jet transports, the Electrical Power System on the Boeing 777 model airplanes represents the present technology that keeps it at the top of the industry.

The Boeing Airplane Company is looking at new technologies for the 7E7 and is exploring the new frontier - Energy Efficient Aircraft Sub-systems. The focus is primarily on better generation and use of energy for the airplane resulting in improved fuel burn for the aircraft.

About the Presenter:

Andrew Ho has worked in the Commercial Aviation Industry for over 25 years. He was an aircraft repairman, License Aircraft Engineer, and is now a Customer Advocate representing the Boeing Company in providing world-class support to the customer airlines.

From 1978 to 1990 he worked for the Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company and Cathay Pacific Airways in Hong Kong with specialised in Aircraft Maintenance and Avionics Technical Services.

In 1990, he immigrated to the U.S. and established his family in Seattle, Washington. Since June 1990, he has worked in the Commercial Aviation Services Division of the Boeing Company.
