AGT events 2010-11
- Year 7: Tour of Hinchingbrooke House.To beheld at the end of the school day. Students will begin the session by discussing the concept of ‘local history’, with a tour of the house allowing pupils the chance to put their ideas into context.
Event to take place in January when it is clear which Year 7 students are ‘AGT’.
- Year 8:Who was welcomed by Elizabeth?One afternoon to look at Elizabeth’s response to religion across her reign.
-The afternoon will begin with an overview of religion within the reformation.
-Students will then be assigned with role play cards and attempt to assess which of their characters would have been most welcome within Elizabeth’s reign.
-The plenary will focus on the Cambridge Players’ satirical performance on religion to Elizabeth in 1564; this will allow students to judge their initial assumptions.
Event to take place in the Assembly Room (if possible) in the second half-term.
- Year 9: Local History Day.One of the class groups will comprise of AGT students.
Event to take place in the summer term.
- Year 10: Cross-curricular History and RE enrichment day.
Event to take place in the summer term.
- Year 10/11: Pepys at the House.An evening to be organised by music, drama and history – open to AGT Year 10 and 11.
October 2010.
- Year 12:History Masterclass.A day of academic lectures at the University of Cambridge designed to provide students with a taste of studying History at university.
If this runs again it will be March/April.
