Dear Parents and Carers

We’ve come to the end of another term and have some news and updates to share with you:-

Parent Group / Parent Support

All parents and carers are reminded that there are support groups and training sessions happening throughout the year. Nancy, our parent support adviser is happy to meet with parents to offer advice with a wide range of school and non-school related matters. We will update you on any upcoming events.

Please contact Nancy out PSA on 07939465600 for more information or to make an appointment.

Website & ICT

We remind all parents and carers that the School Website is a great place to get more information about the School and what we do. All newsletters can also be downloaded from the website should you misplace your paper copy. Please visit our website at www.haymerle.southwark.sch.uk. Your feedback is always welcome.

Autism Awareness

Thank you to all parents and carers, staff and pupils who were involved in the Autism Awareness week activities. The pupils really enjoyed the week. Please see the School website for more information and some photos of what we were up to. A big thank you to all the parents that joined us for our Autism Awareness Coffee Morning to help raise money for this important cause.

Parent Questionnaire

We always value the feedback from parents and carers. We will be giving out parent questionnaires early in the new term.

Gardening

At Haymerle School we love spending time in the garden and learning about the different plants. We enjoy planting, weeding and watering activities.

The pupils have all been enjoying getting lots of fresh air and learning all about plants in the garden. During the cold winter pupils have helped move soil, take out weeds and used them to start a compost system and have been observing the changes weather has on trees and plants.

As we have come into spring the Garden has been filled with even more muddy activity. There are plenty of seeds to be sown and already pupils have planted radish, cabbage, lettuce, artichoke, peas and beans. Next term we will also be building shelters and feeders for insects, birds and butterflies to attract lots of creatures to turn the garden into a vibrant ecosystem. Over the summer we will be helping to nurture the plants so that by Autumn we will have some tasty ‘homegrown’ vegetables to try!

If you would like to volunteer or to learn more about the Garden project please contact Oli at the school or at .
