Actual case histories on gas-lift projects

Papers should have been reviewed before being presented. The paper from the University of Mexico I believe had some misconceptions that may give people the wrong impression.

Gas-lift projects that didn’t work, and why.

Hotel good, but didn’t stay there.

The hotel service staff needs to learn not to open the doors to the meeting room when we are in session.
Happened at least 12 times in two days.

Governmental regulations that affect gas-lift in UK, US/MMS, Australia, etc.

Only one presentation generated concern / controversy.
Heard some complaints but it livened up the Workshop for sure.
The event is sponsored by ASME.
What sponsorship / support comes from API and ISO?
If none, then drop them from the Workshop title.

Being somewhat new to gas-lift, this workshop provided me with knowledge / networks that I can take back home and implement.

Presentations were good but for greater clarity I would like to encourage use of “video” presentations as part of the overall presentations.

Place more emphasis on HSSE.

The stay was very good.
Using the OMNI was a great selection.

As always the workshop was excellent in both papers and opportunities to meet with peers and companies that provided displays.

Some animations on presentations did not work and slides were missed.
PowerPoint format of presentations and laptop should

This workshop was excellent in that it described real problems that are occurring around the world which are very similar to what we each observe at our own facilities.

Facility optimization  more detail.

Hotel is nice.

I went to the school two years ago.
With 20 plus years in the oilfield, those were the longest to days in my career.

This is a good opportunity to be in contact with specialists from all over the world.
The presentations were very good, but ….

The presenters should be suggested to write an article about the information they are presenting.
Most of the presenters do not have all of the information they are presenting, some of them really important.

I’d suggest to invite the companies to present their design procedures, including economical and technical analysis and the way they think things will happen in 5 or 10 years.

Comments Given to Amrah Goebel at the Registration Desk

Workshop should start at 8 AM instead of 7:45 AM. At least 20 people arrived at 8 and were surprised we started so early.

The schedule layout of times was not clear, especially to the international attendees. They could not tell by looking at the schedule how long and when sessions started. Maybe a different layout for the times would work better.

A number of attendees did not like the break between the Wed. sessions and the breakout sessions and thought the dinner was too late. Several people told me they did not stay for the dinner because it was so late (locals).

A few people thought the Thursday's lunch was too long and would rather go back to the office then wait for the afternoon sessions to begin. This may be why we lost some after lunch. Maybe keep it at an hour next year.

Comments from the Steering Committee

We were gratified by the attendance and participation.
We greatly appreciated the leadership provided by the General Chair and the Session Chairs.
We would very much like to see more exhibits at the next workshop.
The continuing education was well attended, but could certainly be better. Many of you gave good suggestions for new material to be presented in the future.
Some people suggest pre-screening presentations. This is difficult since many of the presentations don’t arrive until the very last minute.
For this same reason, it wouldn’t be practical to distribute presentations to attendees ahead of the workshop.
All of the food at the Workshop was prepared in “Halal” compatible style. But we didn’t do a good enough job in making this known.
We realize that we can never please all of the people all of the time. Overall, the evaluations were positive and supportive. Thanks very much.
