ASSASSINATION ATTACKS HAVE RISEN IN IRAQ

It has been stated that the assassination attacks have risen in Iraq recently, as a result of increase in political rivalry and not stating the suspects of the incidents to the public. According to the information, in Mosul/Hamdaniyah, where Christian elements are densely settled, there is an average of one assasination attack per day. That’s why some families, which felt they are under pressure, immigrate to the regions that are relatively safe. The fact that the majority of the Christian families, which have been targeted, are supporters of Assyrian Democratic Movement Leader Yonadim Hanna, gives the impression that there are Kurdish groups behind the assassinations.
In the meantime, the tension has risen as a result of the ambush set up against the Shabak parties in Mosul/Bartilla region. In this incident, the convoy which was carrying Mosul Provincial Council member Kusay Abbas and his bodyguards has been stopped and a death threat has been made. As it is known, Mullah Abbas Kazim has been killed a while ago near a check point that belongs to the peshmerga in the Bashika region. According to the developments, Shabaks are preparing to take this issue to the international public for examination on one hand and, they demand that the Kurdish militias should be sent away from the region and the Hamdaniyah Emergency Intervention Forces should be integrated into Hamdaniyah, Bartilla and Bashika regions on the other.
On the other hand, Sardar Abdollah and Bourhan Hame Ramazan who are members of the Goran Movement, which is under the leadership of Nawshirwan Mustafa, have been injured in the attack that has been carried out in Sulaymaniyah/Seyyid Sadik region. Rauf Kadir has been killed in Halabjah. The work office of MP Suyil Avseman in Koysancak has been set on fire by unidentified people. Goran Movement announced that they sent diplomatic note to Mesud Barzani and international organizations as a result of these attacks.
Mosul representative of Iraqi Turkmen Front, Yavuz Ahmet Efendioglu and one of the prominent Shabak tribal leaders of Mosul, Fazil Ciro have been killed as a result of two separate assassination attacks that were carried out in the past months. Higher Islamic Council of Iraq Northern Provinces responsible, Sheikh Taki El Mevla, has recovered from the attack that was carried out against him in Tall’ Afar without getting injured.
