TRAVEL DAY–SEPTEMBER 6th(TUES): DEPART USA
Bus to NYC Airport will depart from Wooster Street Travel’s office at (TBD). If you can not make it to the office by that time, you will have to have your own transportation to JFK. Our flight# TBD to (TBD) will depart at (time TBD) and arrive in TBD at(TBD) the next day.
Meals and refreshments will be served in flight.
DAY 1 –SEPTEMBER 7th (WED):
AIRPORT / FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA (VENETO REGION)
Arrival as mentioned above. Once luggage is retrieve on own, we will meet and transfer from the Venice Airport to Villa Luppis. Once we arrive at Villa Luppis and check in, you will have time to settle in and have the remainder of the day free. This free time will also be a perfect opportunity to visit the grounds of the Villa. Early evening, we will tour the Villa which was once an old Monastery, roughly now 1000 years old – we will visit the winery, the Chapel, and walk around their secular park. We will enjoy a welcome drink in the winery, located in an ice cellar dated 1200 and choose, assisted by our Sommelier with a Magnum of Prosecco and warm and cold appetizers. Tonight we will enjoy our Welcome Dinner at the Villa with the beautiful sounds of music as we dine. (B/D)
DAY 2 – SEPTEMBER 8th (THURS):
FRIULI VENEZIAA GIULIA – SAN DANIELE del FRIULI – UDINE – FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA
Today, after breakfast, we will enjoy a full day of local villages and towns. Our first stop will be Spilimbergo where we will visit one of the most ancient mosaic school in the world, where students from all over the world come here to learn how to do mosaics. From there will travel to San Daniele del Friuli to visit one of the oldest Ham Producers for a tour. We will then enjoy a typical 5-course lunch at a local Trattoria near the Ham Producer. Then we are off to visit Udine, the capital of Friuli with its friendly squares, Tiepolo masterpieces and traditional osterias where we will be joined by our Local Guide. Looking at Udine, Friuli's capital city, from the hills where the historic castle stands, to the north you see the red roofs of the city and beyond to the crests of the hills and mountains that protect it, whereas to the south, less than an hour's drive away, there is the Adriatic Sea. Imagine how it was in the 17th century, when Giambattista Tiepolo reached the height of his artistic maturity in this very city. His works can now be viewed in the Tiepolo Galleries (Palazzo Patriarcale), the cathedral and the church of the Purità. Tonight, we enjoy a delicious barbeque dinner with fish and meat menu around the boarder of our illuminated Swimming Pool. (B/L/D)
DAY3 – SEPTEMBER 9th (FRI):
FRIULI VENZIA GIULIA – TREVISO – WINERY – FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA
Today, after breakfast, we will enjoy another day of excursions. Our first adventure will be the town of Treviso, where we will be joined by our Local Guide to learn about this beautiful roman town which flourished in the Middle Ages under the rule of the Venetian Republic. The history of Treviso, complex and turbulent, was a sign of socio-political changing. Lunch will be on your own. After lunch, we will visit a local winery located in a beautiful Venetian Villa for a tasting of 4 local wines with typical canapés. Next is a visit to one of the most important Grappa-Producer in North Italy (Alexander) where we will visit the production line and grappa tasting with biscuits and local sweets. Then we head back to our villa to freshen up for dinner. Tonight we will enjoy a Gala dinner with wine tasting in our gourmand Restaurant Lupus in Tabula with a 5-course menu (4 glasses of wine included). Before dinner we will experience a visit to the winery which is located in an ice cellar dated back to 1200 to choose which wines we will enjoy for dinner. (B/D)
