Parent Information / In the past few weeks, Kindergarten classes learned how to use pictures, numbers, and words to show 0 to 5.
Benchmark / MA.K.CC.1 – Count to 100 by ones and tens.
MA.K.CC.3 – Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects.)
Objective / For your child to be able to model numbers 0 to 5.
Vocabulary / One – a number for a single object.
Two – One more than one.
Duration / 30 minutes
Materials / Bean, buttons or something similar
Procedures / Use this five frame and counters such as beans or buttons. Have your child place counters on the five frame to show the numbers 0-5. For 0, have your child place one counter on the five frame then remove it. Together practice writing the numbers 0-5.
