Membership Procedures and Cost
Read and follow very carefully.
North Carolina DECA is on the Direct Dues System offered by National DECA. Please pay strict attention to the following procedures and those listed on the dues form. DECA membership is open to students enrolled in a Marketing Education program for this academic year and to students having successfully completed at least one Marketing Education course offered at your school. This includes semester course students.
Dues are unified. Each high school, alumni, collegiate, and professional member must pay dues as shown below, which includes state and national affiliation.

Description of Online Membership System:
Chapters log on to the membership system and follow a step-by-step process to record their members. The system calculates the dues owed for both the state association and DECA Inc. and generates an invoice. The chapter then prepares a single check for the dues and forwards it to DECA Inc. Membership is confirmed when DECA Inc. receives and processes the dues check. Chapters may add additional members at any time. Once you electronically submit your membership, your local chapter is bound and responsible for payment of those dues.
NO EXCEPTIONS!
State/provincial associations will receive an e-mail notification each time a chapter submits members. Designated representatives of the association will have administrative access to the chapter data at any time. Associations will receive the accumulated association dues on a monthly basis in the same manner that direct dues are currently processed.
Dues are as follows: All paid members of North Carolina DECA must also be paid members of National DECA; this includes professional division members.

Send a copy of your invoice/rosterto your Board of Directors Chairperson along with a copy of the check you are submitting to nationals for payment. This must be done when you send your original membership roster and any additions rosters you may submit during the school year.
Postmark these copies by date specified by National DECA. Remember, this is only the first date for submitting dues. You may submit additional dues/members at any time using the on-line system. Additions are welcome until the registration deadline for the North Carolina CDC.

Note: The earlier National DECA receives dues payment, the earlier services begin for your chapter. Remember, once you submit students electronically, dues are payable.
