Sample 1:
What is a Walk On?
Walk On is a walkathon led by Bright Horizons staff, children, and families. The goal is to raise money and awareness about the needs of children in crisis. Walk Ons raise money to help the Foundation’s work of brightening lives for children who are homeless or experiencing other major crises.
Bright Horizons Family Solutions started the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children in 1999 to help achieve its mission of making a difference in the lives of children and families in which we live and work. The Foundation supports programs that serve children in crisis, including thousands of children who are experiencing homelessness. We strive to create happy childhood memories for all children and support the development of strong families.
Why should you support our Walk On?
We are walking with our children to help them learn how to make the world a better place.
We are walking to brighten lives of children in crisis.
We are walking because right now, there are more homeless children than at any time since the Great Depression.

Sample 2:
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your family to participate in our Bright Horizons Walk On. Our Walk On is an organized pledge walk to raise funds for local children in need. On [DATE] we will gather at [LOCATION] to join forces to make a difference in the lives of children in our community. Your participation will help us accomplish our goal of providing an additional Bright Space play area for homeless children.
More now than ever, corporations like Bright Horizons need to demonstrate a willingness to serve their communities. We believe that our commitment and participation in this Walk On will mean a better future for all of us because our efforts will help children and families right here in [LOCATION].
Often times when we see homeless adults on the street, we tend to forget about the children affected by homelessness; they become hidden victims. This is our opportunity to put the spotlight on the children of [LOCATION]. Providing a Bright Space will give children a sense of normalcy in a time when their lives are in turmoil.
Did you know:
• Children and families make up the fastest growing segment of the homeless population.
• The average homeless child in America is only 6 years old.
• More than 1.5 million American children will experience homelessness this year.
Join our effort and be a ray of hope for a homeless child. I urge you to support Walk On by pledging your financial support to a walker or joining the festivities by gathering pledges and participating in the walk. With your support, there is hope for children and families in need.

Sample 3:
On Saturday, March 28, 2009, we will host our area’s first Bright Horizon’s Walk On. Bright Horizons employees, families and surrounding communities are invited to Walk On and raise funds to build a Bright Space at the Agape Corner in Durham, a boarding school for children ages 5-18. Agape Corner is a place where children who are at risk seek assistance in rebuilding their lives. Our Walk On event will begin and end at our Bright Horizons at Imperial center.
The Agape Corner is currently partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build their new school which will house our Bright Space. A Bright Space is a warm, enriching place that gives children and teens in crisis a special, safe place to play and learn.
