Co-ordinator of Coaching
The Co-ordinator of Coaching is appointed by the PNZ Executive and reports to a designated member of the executive. The appointment is for a one-year term.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Continue to develop, implement and co-ordinate thenational framework for coaching in the sport of petanque in New Zealand that will enable on-going training and development of Club and Regional coaches and the identification of potential National coaches, including:
- Progress the development of technical standards and qualifications for Club, Regional, andNational, (level 1, 2 & 3)coaching qualifications.
- Regulate the period of validity of certification and the renewal process
- Deliver, or delegate delivery of, the process by which coaches are trained.
- Create a timetable for “Train the Coaches” programmes and disseminate this to all clubs.
- Continue to develop and maintain the systems and resources to train National Level coaches to coach New Zealand high performance players and representative teams; including:
- Establish and develop liaison with coaching personnel internationally
- Investigate joint coaching and training opportunities internationally, for example with Petanque Australia.
- Maintain an up to date National database of all qualified Coaches, their level of qualification and renewal period.
- Provide input to the on-going development of the PNZ coaching structure.
- Develop an annual action plan for coaching,including a budget, to be presented to the Executive at least one month before the end of the financial year (31 December).
- Provide a quarterly written report to the Executive.
- Ensure all information on the website under coaching is up to date and relevant and provide resources for the website where possible.
Required:
- A good understand of acoaching structure and its relevance to Clubs, Regions and the Representation process.
- Must be willing and able to travel around New Zealand, and possibly overseas, to fulfil the role (approved expenses are reimbursable).
PNZ’s Responsibilities:
- Provide an appropriate level of personal development as required for the role.
- Provide adequate funding to maintain the role, based on the agreed annual budgets.
- Communicate Executive decisions, approvals, and responses in a timely manner.
