Guiding Questions: Review school data and consider a variety of perspectives including overall school/student performance, sub-group performance, attendance, teacher satisfaction, instructional practice (from walk- throughs/observations), and student learning (also from walk-throughs/observations as well as data).
1. What does the analysis tell you about your schools strengths?
K-2 Assessment: King Elementary K-2 Assessment data and 3-5 EOG data shows that in each grade level we are continuing to improve in our mathematics instruction. In all grades K-5 we showed an increase in our overall math proficiency as well as continuing to decrease our number of level 1/2 students. Our K-2 Assessment data in literacy continues to remain consistent in grades K-2.
mCLASS Data: Our K-2 students were assessed three times in the 2013-2014 school year using DIBELS Next and TRC. Growth was shown from BOY-MOY-EOY.
3-5 EOG Data: Overall King Elementary had another good year in 3rd-5th grade EOG's. We continued to show proficiency growth in our performance composite. We scored above the county and state averages in each grade level and for all the subjects, except for 3rd Grade Math for 2 consecutive years.
AMO: King Elementary met 95.7%(inc. from 94.1% in 2012-13) or 22 out of 23 Annual Measurable Objectives (AMO). In the All White subgroup, King Elementary achieved a Reading Proficiency of 50.6 % and the target goal was 60.9%.
Attendance/Discipline: Our overall attendance remains around the 95% mark. Our discipline data shows 187 total office referrals with 25 out of school suspensions.
