3th edition: SHOHINTEN ON JUNE 4-5 2016

After last year’s success and the demand of many Shohin enthusiasts we will present a thirdShohin and Kifu show in 2016.

It is our intention to organise this event annually from now on (on every first weekend of June) and see to it that this becomes a must-see among the other top-events throughout the year. Our motivation is without question!

The participation in this show is free and open to everyone.

One can enrol through our website or via email. All necessary documentation is available on the former, as well as all information regarding this “Ten”; simply log on to:

Abé Kenichi and Sekiyama Hideo take up the role of the judges and they will hand out the trophies and announce nominations.

People’s Choice Award: this price is awarded to the artwork the visitors deem most beautiful.

The winner of the award receives a voucher distributed by Vijvertuinen ‘t Veerle.

10.00 – 18.00: Shohin and Kifu Ten

9.00 onwards: workshop by Abé Kenichi

Centred around the care of the Pinus tree

10.00 onwards: workshop by Abé Keiko

Concept and creation of flower ornaments

There is a demonstrationshown by Sekiyama Hideo running all day regarding the trimming and care of Azaleas. A golden opportunity for every enthusiast to learn more about the growth and blossoming of this very special bonsai species.

18.00: announcement of the winners in their respective categories, concerning all participating bonsais of the Shohin Ten. (Judged by Abé K. and Sekiyama H.)

13.00 – 15.00: Demonstration given by Kenichi Abé (JP) for the PinusPerviflora

18.00: announcement of the People’s Choice Award for the most beautiful artwork of the Shohin Ten by the visitors.

19.00: Closing of the 2nd Memorial Marcel ‘t Veerle
