Objective/Goal/Asanas taught: Heart openers to tie into Big Wolf & Little Wolf
· Cat/cow
· Camel
· Childs pose
· Bridge
· Plow
· Childs pose
· Sphinx
· Bow
· Lizard on a rock or childs pose
Tune In (2 minutes): Three big sun breaths with Om on the third one
Warm Up/ Sun Salutation Practiced (10 minutes): Three times
reach up!
touch your toes
downward dog
right foot up
right foot through
warrior one
warrior two
(lower...hold for count of 5)
cartwheel down
downward dog
left foot up
left foot through
warrior one
and warrior two
(lower....hold for count of 5)
cartwheel down
downward dog
bend your knees
jump to your hands
touch your toes
reach up high!
tadasana (mountain pose)
Direct Instruction/Demonstration (15 minutes):
· Read Big Wolf & Little Wolf
· Discuss have a big heart and making space for people
· Demonstrate poses with kids following
Independent Practice (10 minutes):
· Have the kids play around with the sequence by going through poses again
· Walk around and support positions
Assessment/Follow Up (3 minutes):
· Ask kids if they remember some of the names of poses
· Ask kids their favorite pose of the day
Savasana/Close (5 minutes):
· Guided color meditation
· Three big sun breaths
· One OM
· Namaste
Materials Needed: Big Wolf & Little Wolf; mats; chimes; rule poster; phone for time; attendance sheet; pictures from Yoga Pretzel cards?
