CONSTRUCTION

Poston Butte

§  The District has received notice of an “Agreed Motion to Dismiss” Durrant’s bankruptcy claim; we are currently waiting on comment from our attorneys

§  We have not yet received any response from Durrant’s attorney or insurance concerning the District’s claim for design deficiencies, nor have we obtained a copy of Durrant’s third party engineering reports

§  Sundt is proceeding with correction of 2-year warranty issues; some of the more intrusive concerns, such as grinding concrete so that outside pavement is lower than door thresholds and gym roof repairs, will be completed over the summer break

San Tan Valley now has another news source: the Gateway Reporter. Gateway evolved from BestofSanTanValley.com and is currently online news only. It will be moving to hard copy with distribution by mail at the end of May.

§  The first edition of the Gateway Reporter will be in mailboxes in San Tan Valley and Queen Creek on May 17; we are developing a quarter page ad for this first edition, and have secured advertising rates through December 2012 that are very affordable

§  The first edition will also carry an editorial piece by Dr. Nine

§  Facebook followers now number 939, reaching FUSD families, friends and employees, both current and graduated, local and even international!

Special Projects

§  Highlights video, created as a tool for the Election Advisory Committee, has continued to evolve, with versions suited to the needs of staff meetings, community meetings, non-political networking and fellowship groups, website and social media

§  Another version is in the creative process, which will focus on the population that has no children or specific interest in education
