2148MATTERS ARISING

2138 Ingles Football Club – Dug Outs Members had been circulated with correspondence received from Ingles FC expressing their concern at the Council’s decision not to permit them to install permanent dug outs.

It was RESOLVED to reply advising that no further discussion will be held on the matter. However, should they wish to consider mobile dug outs (which will be required to be removed after each and every match) then they need to submit a design. The dug outs would need to be insured by Ingles FC and a disclaimer issued to the Town Council, as they will not take any responsibility for the dug outs.

2149CORRESPONDENCE

a) Lucy Richards, Quantock Rise – Silver Maple Following the recommendation of a Tree Surgeon, it was RESOLVED to arrange for a Silver Maple adjacent to 45 Quantock Rise to be removed at a cost of £650 + VAT.

It was also RESOLVED to fell a dead tree and remove a hanging branch from a Willow tree to the rear of 42 Nursery Close at a cost of £350 + VAT (without ratification).

With reference to the Field Maple growing adjacent to 31 Northwood Drive, the Tree Surgeon advised that it is impossible to establish by visual means whether or not the tree is responsible for the cracks in the brickwork. It would, therefore, be the responsibility of the home owners to contact their insurance company for clarification/confirmation.

b) Streetscape – Sandringham Rise RESOLVED to table for information the details of the repairs to the vandalised safety surfacing at Sandringham Rise totalling £2200 + VAT.

Details of the costs incurred to rate payers of Shepshed are to be published in the local media.

c) Paul Lynch Roofing Ltd – Cemetery Hexagonal Building Roof The Clerk noted that she is currently waiting for a subsequent quotation.

After the repairs have been carried out, it was RESOLVED to consider enquiring whether the building should be listed or not.

It was noted that in her capacity as County Councillor, Cllr C Radford had purchased a picnic bench/seating to be installed in the Wander Garden, Nature Reserve.

With reference to the provision of a multi exercise station, a site meeting had been held with a company who may be able to assist with applying for funding through Biffa.

RESOLVED to accept the report.

Members had been furnished with a copy of the above report.

The Chairman of Council, Cllr C Poole reported that she had judged the best allotment for 2017.

2152PLANNING MATTERS

The following planning applications had been received and it was RESOLVED to forward comment to CBC’s Planning Department as detailed:-

P/17/1390/2 Demolition of existing single storey B8 warehouse, two storey office and erection of two B8 warehouse units with ancillary offices, service yard and additional car parking (Revised scheme – P/16/1469/2) AT Unit 3 Gelders Hall Road – No comment

P/17/1344/2 Erection of single storey extensions to rear and front of dwelling AT 19 Leicester Road – No comment

P/17/1149/2 Formation of dropped kerb to create vehicular access to front of dwelling AT 42 Iveshead Road – Express concern at the fact that Iveshead Road is a fast road and also, there is very little room for manoeuvre, therefore, would not support the formation of a dropped kerb

P/17/0875/2 Infrastructure works comprising roads and attenuation ponds (Reserved matters – outline application P/13/1826/2 refers – Erection of 380 dwellings) AT Land off Tickow Lane – Express concern at the amount of trees and hedges which appear to have been removed, despite some of them having preservation orders attached to them.

It would appear that procedure is not being followed and existing conditions are not being adhered to, therefore, request that this mater be investigated and addressed accordingly.

2153CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

a) Persimmon Homes – Art Work Following a request from Persimmon Homes to discuss the provision of art work within the development off Hathern Road, it was RESOLVED to arrange for a meeting to be held with the Town Council.

It was reported that LCC is involved with Persimmon Homes regarding the brook – Cllr C Radford agreed to forward details of the site manager to the Clerk for future reference.
