External Panel meeting - indicative schedule – Approvals
Times will be adjusted to meet the needs of the individual event
08.50 / Panel arrive / A member of the Academic Quality teamwill normally meet the external panel members at main reception.
09.00 / Meeting of the panel to set an agenda / The External Panel will identify issues for discussion and set an agenda based on the items listed on the indicative agenda.
09.45 / Demonstration of online learning resources / tour of resources / A demonstration of the VLEand online library resources is normally provided by the Subject Librarian and/or Learning Technologist. A tour of subject specific facilities and resources available to support the provision may also be provided. For completely online programmes or those with a substantial online learning element - a demonstration of programme specific online resourceswill be provided to give the panel the opportunity to test a sample of proposed learning materials.

11.00 / Meeting with members of the development team / Meeting with the development team including teaching, support and management staff to facilitate discussion pertaining to the entire curriculum including unit-level detail. The Subject Librarian, Learning Technologist, employers or other stakeholders who have contributed to the development may also be invited to attend this meeting.
12.30 / Panel lunch with the team / Lunch will be provided for up to 10 members of the team
13.00 / Meeting with members of the development team / Meeting continues if required
14.00 / Meeting of the panel followed by report back to the development team / Private panel meeting to agree conclusions and formulate a set of outcomes. The outcomes will include aspects of good practice and strengths of the provision as well as a judgment on approval. The outcome will take one of the following forms:
- recommend unconditional approval, subject to normal periodic review;
- recommend approval subject to conditions and/or recommendations and subject to normal periodic review;
- recommend approval for a limited period only with or without conditions and/or recommendations, after which a review will be held;
