Title / Patient Services Coordinator
Main function / Serves as facility telephone operator. Greets patients and makes sure that necessary paperwork is completed. Collects co-pays as per company policy. Schedules and reschedules patients’ appointments per established protocols by provider. Provide filing in medical records to assist with overflow/busy times. Serves as a primary customer service representative for WSMC. Completes other duties and special projects, as assigned or requested. (Only PSC-Additional Training Tasks must sign page 3, if applicable)

6. PSC duties
- Serves as telephone operator for facility; routes incoming calls correctly and takes accurate messages when unable to connect caller to requested party
- Schedules and reschedules patient appointments per established provider protocols.
- Receives and distributes all mail, faxes and special deliveries
- Greets patients and provides necessary paperwork for completion
- Notifies appropriate nursing staff that patient is present after patient has completed paperwork
- Prints and mails recall reminders as directed by clinical staff
- Performs appointment/confirmation/reminder calls as directed by clinical staff
- Enters demographics into computer system
- Verifies Insurance information using computer system
- Calls appropriate agencies for assistance in case of emergency
- Performs other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed
- Collects appropriate co-payments and/or account balances at the time of service
- Issues appropriate duplicate receipts when receiving payments by cash or check directly from patients
- Prints or exports Visit Summaries for all office encounters
- Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and Red Flag Rules
Responsibility for assets / Responsible for incoming cash, checks, and credit card receipts until delivered to accounts receivable office. Balances to Deposit Sheet and cash box according to Policy and Procedure.
Qualifications / 1. Cooperative and friendly work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
2. Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and general public
3. Ability to make decisions and solve problems
Requirements / Required
· High school diploma or GED certificate
· May be required to take pre-employment testing
· Good communication skills
· Good computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, eClinical Works and any other EHR experience and Internet Resources
· Ability to run and maintain fax machine, printers, credit card machine, and other office equipment as needed
· Strong ethical and moral character references
Preferred
Medical receptionist experience

Train new PSC hire-monitor and review progress with ASC
Train current staff on new processes
Schedule interviews for ASC
Interview references for new hires & review with ASC
Input and maintain PSC staff & or CC staff schedule and coverage & review with ASC
Review and approve or decline all Staples orders for all offices
Handle special projects
Auditing patient chart info screen and address issues with staff
Monitor auditing to ensure 5 charts, per PSC, per month are completed
Meets with ASC to discuss any issues, concerns, projects, etc., as needed
Completes other duties and special projects, as assigned or requested
