Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for consideration as an educational presenter at the Retail Confectioners International (RCI) 2014 Fall Regional Conference. The 2014 Fall Regional Conference education sessions will be determined through a review process by the RCI Education Committee. Proposals and supporting information should be submitted to RCI by March 7, 2014:

Please review the following information before submitting your proposal:

  • There are four 45 minute sessions open which will take place in the Bellagio’s Tuscany Kitchen - an exhibition kitchen with full demonstration area. Longer sessions may be available upon request. Interactive presentations are preferred including cooking demonstrations and/or hands-on activities for audience members. Session length includes time for participant question and answer, and will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2014.
  • Audience Profile:

The audience is comprised primarily of candy store owners and staff who work in their businesses. The majority of the attendees will be from the United States, but members from Canada will likely be present as well. The median age is 45 years old and they learn best from hands-on presentations or visual aids used in presentations and enjoy opportunities to interact.

  • RCI is a non-profit organization with limited financial resources. If you require compensation or paid expenses for your presentation, please include that information in your proposal.
  • You will be notified if your proposal is chosen by the RCI Education Committee by April 4, 2014.

All presentations must comply with federal copyright infringement laws. No materials copied from other resources without the express written consent by the author may be submitted for RCI events. If an instructor wishes to use materials from a publication, another conference or a source not directly written by the instructor, a copy of written consent to use and copy the material must be provided to the RCI office with your materials.

Speaker Responsibilities
  • Design and develop session content that matches the proposed title and description.
  • If the presentation is selected, work with the RCI education committee and staff to finalize educational content and speaker information, including completing a speaker needs agreement.
  • Prepare a handout to be distributed during the presentation and made available for members on the RCI website. RCI will make copies of your prepared handout to have available at the event site for distribution.
