2016-2017 Greenbush Teacher / School Specialist Mentor Program
Below are the 2016-2017 dates and locations for district-selected mentors (experienced teachers) AND their mentees (new teachers) to complete the KSDE-required Teacher and School Specialists Mentor Program training through Greenbush.
Teachers and School Specialists participating in our program will take part in a one-day initial training at the beginning of the school year (dates/locations are provided below), a second day of training at the end of the first semester (dates/provided below), a CITW workshop series (required for mentees), a mid-year and end-of-year program evaluation survey, and guidance in transitioning the mentees' initial license to a professional license at the end of the program. Greenbush will also provide program participants with multiple support resources such as online modules, PDP Toolbox integration (for PDP Toolbox members), and an online observation and reflection protocol.
This year's teacher mentor workshops will incorporate a focus on Fred Jones' "Tools for Teaching - The Fundamentals of Classroom Management" and Harry Wong's "The Effective Teacher" along with McREL's "Classroom Instruction That Works."

$2500 per District for Non-District Members*
*Districts will be responsible for the cost of Tools For Teaching and The Effective Teacher books for both the Mentor and the Mentees. These resources will be handed out at the initial mentor training and will be billed directly to the district.
In addition to the Initial and Day 2 mentor training dates, all mentees (mentors welcome also) are required to attend a CITW (Classroom Instruction that Works) workshop series. Each 3-day CITW workshop series and their locations are listed in the table below. Each mentee will need to register for their CITW workshop series separately.
