  2. Work Plan and OSHPD Semi-Annual Report
  3. Kristin is working on this report and the steering committee will be looking at in the next week. OSHPD is looking for outcomes, budget and how we are engaging people. The steering committee will be going through data from the strategic planning committee.
  4. Substance Use Disorders Curriculum
  5. The Collaborative is in phase one of this project whichis funded by the Zellerbach Foundation. The consultant is Rob Williams, PhD. He has faculty connections and understands “faculty culture”. He is getting info about curriculum and gapsregarding SUDs programming in the current curriculum.
  6. Behavioral Health and Human Resources for CBOs Forum in the North Bay
  7. A number of CBOs have stepped forward and there is a lot of interest in the North Bay. As there are 60 seats, they need to figure out how to manage who they bring to the table. The next planning meeting is 2pm on February 11.To join the meeting:

The Forum will take place from 9:30-2 on April 29 in Marin.

  • Stand UP Against Stigma Conference
  • This will be February 18-20. Twelve scholarships have been awarded to Bay Area county staff members who will be asked to bring back information to share with colleagues.
  • Bright Young Minds
  • The High School Career Pathways is on March 18. It is open to students who are already on Mental Health Pathways. There are 200 opens. There will be many panels. It will be at Merritt College.
  • North and South Bay Collaborative Updates
  • South Bay – next meeting on March 20 – They will involve nurse educators from Cabrillo College. CSUMB will be the host.
  • North Bay – next meeting on January 30. They are doing interpreter training, considering high school pathways programming and investigating peer certification training at either SRJC.

  3. Save the Date for the Spring Conference on May 7-8 at the Concord Hilton. The Keynote isWill Hall. Workshop proposals are due Janaury 30. Debra can be reached at .
  4. Sonoma – Amy Faulstich
  5. The county now has a clearinghouse website for bilingual jobs. On February 19 Sonoma team will be presenting at Together Against Stigma.
  6. Zellerbach – Amy Price
  7. On April 2-3 Peers will be providing a training on how to provide mental health services to TAY. It will include how to collectively share resources. The ultimate goal is to develop an online forum for these resources. In April CalSWEC will provide a fairness and equity child welfare training.
  8. SFDH is the lead agency to get a SAMSAH grant to create a regional center to make sure all counties are trauma informed.
  9. Seneca Family of Services – Jennifer Nguyen
  10. They have launched their second application process for MSWs. Participants can work full-time and obtain their MSW from USC. They just closed the application for the seven semester program. 90% of participants are the first generation to be a college graduate and over 50% have bilingual capacity.
  11. Mission College Health Workforce Initiative – Cynthia Harrison
  12. They are planning for the July career summer institute which will include a two day mental health first aid training.
  13. CIBHS – Kimberley Mayer
  14. Kim provided updates from several other California Regions. Superior County has had BSW and MSW programs at Chico and Humboldt and they are now looking at training peers. The Central Region is developing an online MSW program. Several years ago the Central Region started a roving supervisor program which allowed 40-50 people to finish their hours and take their licensing exam. The Superior Region started the same program. Kim is working with the UCSF School of Nursing to study how psychiatric nurse practitioners are used in five counties.

The next Intern Coordinators meeting will be February 26 at 2 pm at 2000 Embarcadero in Oakland on the second floor.

The next in-person collaborative meeting will be at a different location as Vocational Support Services for Alameda County is moving out of the Hegenberger Road location.
