3.6Bench on right of road on Cray Road in need of repair. Mr. Schofield to report. Mr. D. Lusted informed the Meeting that he had a friend, Mrs. Betty Musso, whose husband had recently died and wanted to donate a bench to be if possible placed on the Cray Road. This would be made by Mr. Lusted’s son Robert. Monies would also be donated to pay for any foreseeable maintenance. This was discussed by the Committee and the idea was approved. The seat that Mr. H. Wilkes had refurbished would be left on the Village Green as it was felt this would be the ‘safest place possible.’ The Council thanked Mrs. G. Wilkes in her husbands absence for the work he had done refurbishing the seat from the Cray Road site. It was felt there were now too many seats on the Green so one was to be taken up to the Cray Road site whilst the new one was made. When this was made this seat was to be taken down to join the seat on the riverside at Hubberholme. The ‘new seat’ on the Cray Road site would be secured. All these expenses would be incurred by Mr. Lusted.
