ALL LAY SERVANTS WHO HAVE NOT TAKEN A CLASS SINCE 2012:

Your deadline for taking a class to continue as a Local or Certified Lay Servant is December 31, 2015. You may take a class in any of the four districts of the Peninsula-Delaware Conference. Remember, all Lay Servants are required to take a course every three years.

To all who took the Basic Lay Servant Course in October of 2014 and became Local Lay Servants, while you may take an advanced course at this time, it will not be credited toward your becoming a Certified Lay Servant. You must serve as a Local Lay Servant in your home church for one full year before you can take a class to become Certified.

I urge you to maintain a record of all the classes you have taken or are taking. This record will be important if you ever decide to go deeper into service for the Lord. The certificates that are given to you at the end of each course can be used as proof of attendance should any question arise in the future.

If you no longer wish to receive the Lay Academy information, please let me know or pass the material to someone in your church who may be interested.

Finally, I would like to thank all of you who are in Lay Ministry for your service to your Church, your congregation, your community and to the Lord. Let your pastor know you are there to help him or her in any way you are called. Support the clergy. Their job is not an easy one. The classes offered by the academy are designed to equip you become more productive members of God's Kingdom and to serve and equip others for service.

God bless all of you,

Florence Sulitzky
