During the following weeks we are going to work with one of the chapters from the book called Glimpses of the Past.
Many important moments have been shared upon our earth in thepast, and we will acknowledge, honour and learn from our ancestors and theirachievements.
We will
Work in Core 1 and with other web casted material:
Read texts about historical moments
Listen to speeches and stories from the past
Work with grammar and vocabulary in order to improve our production
Examination:
Write about and give a presentation in class about an important woman from the past!
Where did the success urge from/where was the interest born? What made her push forward? What made her successful?
Homework
w. 1 The Good Old Days: Interview one of your grandparents, or someone else of the same age, and ask them about the “good old days”. Write down your questions as well as the answers you get during the interview. Think about what you learned in the interview and write a conclusion. Hand in!
w. 2Historical Events: Which events in the last 15-20 years do you think will find their way into future history books? Explain why you think these events will be included.
w. 3Work on your speech: choose a historical woman or event you find interesting, based on own habits and experiences, stories heard or curiosity, and find information about that person/event. Present your material in a speech (5-10 minutes), aswell as a text which will be up for exhibition when we celebrate women across the world March 8th.
- Engage the audience and adapt to the situation

- Don’t underestimate the meaning/importance of the pause!
