COMPUTER APPLICATIONS – MENU PROJECT

You will create a restaurant menu for this project. It is worth 300 points. It must be completed and turned in by______. Please be creative and include each item listed below in your project. Please use your time wisely and use the resources available to you such as your textbook, the scanner (scan pictures), the Internet (search for pictures, food items, foreign names), and other sources. Please print preview and check your documents carefully before printing. In order to save color ink, PLEASE DO NOT PRINT IN COLOR UNTIL YOU HAVE YOUR MENU READY TO TURN IN.

REQUIREMENTS

Your menu must be at least 6 pages (front and back cover pages and food list with prices). Set all margins to 0.5” (File, Page SetUp).

  1. Your first page should be the outside cover of the menu and should include the following:

___ Location, city, state, phone number, website

___ Hours of operation and any other information you want to include

___ Symbol (or Wingdings)

___ Clipart, picture from Internet, or a scanned picture

___ May include a page border

Your second, third, fourth, and fifth pages should list the food items that are for sale. Include a description of each food item or meal and the price. You may include breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, if appropriate. You may include appetizers, desserts, drinks menus. You may include a children’s menu, if appropriate. If the restaurant serves foreign food, you may key these pages in a foreign language and provide a translation.

  1. Your menu must be original (not an existing restaurant like McDonald’s or Outback) and unlike any other student’s in the class. You may NOT copy food item lists from the Internet.
  1. After previewing and proofreading, print your menu in color. Laminate and bind the pages for display.
