Work Experience
Recent work experience
1993 – 2003: Software Architect - Telelogic/Continuus Software Corp. Irvine, CA
2000 – 2003: Java and Object Oriented Design Instructor, University of California, Irvine Extension (concurrent with Telelogic)
1987 – 1993: Senior Software Developer – Quotron Systems Inc., Los Angeles, CA
2000-Current University of California, Irvine Extension (concurrent with Telelogic)
Java and Object Oriented Design Instructor
For the past 2 1/2 years, I Taught for the University of California, Irvine Extension. This work was concurrent with my job at Telelogic. I have I have enjoyed great success teaching Java and Object Oriented Design. I have tCourses included aught Introduction to Java, Java Programming I, Java Programming II and Design Patterns for Java. I rContinue to receive high marks from my students on my teaching abilities and my knowledge of the subject. I Particularlyparticularly enjoy teaching the course on Design Patterns for Java - , as it has helped me tremendously in applying theoretical principles in my daily work.
1993-2003 Telelogic North America, Irvine, CA
Software Architect
In my ten years at Telelogic/Continuus, I was Rresponsible for designing and developing numerous systems for their Telelogic’s Software Configuration Management products. My Dduties included designing software frameworks that were used by the entire team. My Llast projectinvolved was designing and prototyping a Web Services infrastructure that willto be used as a front end for a legacy API.
As Software Architect, I had extensive interactions with customers, analysts and the press. I amAm a very dynamic public speaker and have spoken at user group conferences and customer round tables. Through my interaction with the press, I have been quoted in various industry publications on matters concerning software development.
I Iinvented, designed and developed Telelogic Active/CM. Active/CM is a, a ground breaking patent-pending technology that removes much of the tedium of Configuration Management tasks.
The Active/CM development team and I waswere recently awarded the Southern California Software Council’s award for 2003 Software Developer of the Year (). I wAs the inventor of the technology was the individual who invented the product, was successfully interviewed by the Software Council and accepted the award.
I Ddesigned and developed Continuus/WebSynergy, which m – a Web-based tool that manages high end Web sites.
This It’s a Java application that uses Servlets to process requests and render HTML based pages. Major components included session management to distribute a large number of users to a pool of machines, template driven HTML request and response pages similar to JSP, semi-native process spawning through rexec and an ASCII editor Applet for editing content on a WebSynergy controlled web site.
Continuus/WebSynergy won the AEA’s "Most Innovative Product of 1999" for OrangeCounty.
As the company expert on Java, I trained the development entire teamstaff and developed the software processes which we would followused for all of our Java software development.
DI designed and developed a software infrastructure for integrations between Continuus/CM and third party programs in. The Pprimary infrastructure piece was a "C++" DLL implementation of Microsoft's Source Code Control Interface. This Aallowed Continuus/CM to be tightly integrated with a host of third party products including Visual Studio, Visual Basic, MS Access and PowerBuilder. DI developed this project mostly in myduringown off time as a proof of concept to convince Continuus that the project was practical. It Hhas since become a powerful force multiplier for the companyTelelogic.
SI spent my first year at Continuus as a consultant helping customers implement Continuus’ technology at their site. During my entire tenure at Telelogic/Continuus, I have been called upon to represent the company at customer site tso aid in sales, implementation and requirements gathering.
1987-1993 Quotron System Inc. Los Angeles, CA
Senior Software Developer
DI designed, managed and developed the common software infrastructure for all new products at Quotron. This product became the API for all future Quotron products.
Key features included a common socket based communications layer and a language for specifying the contents of data feeds. This Infrastructureproject was designed using Structured Analysis and Design techniques and CASE tools. Implementation was in "C" on various Unix platforms.
DI developed and maintained stock market control software that was used on many major Equities and Options trading floors. Most of the work on these projects was either in "C" or a proprietary assembly language.
I Received Quotron's highest achievement award - "The Circle Award for Service
Excellence"
