Offshore Wind IGERT Student International Internship Grant
Application Process:
IGERT students may apply for funds for offshore wind related international internships as follows:
• All IGERT fellows and associates are eligible to apply for an international internship training grant during the course of their PhD program. (Multiple applications may be submitted, but only one will be granted). The application form is attached and should be e-mailed to .
• Total requests for funding should not exceed $9000. Internship support may include any academic fees, visas, transportation, lodging, and meals.
• Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis, but please try to submit your application at least three months before the date of the internship you are applying for. To be competitive, applications should explain the relevance of the internship to offshore wind and to interdisciplinary training.
• Applications indicating matched funds and/or cost-sharing (accommodations, transportation, etc.) will be favorably viewed. Potential matching sources might include: internship sponsor, advisors, home departments/programs, university grants, societies, etc.)
• Applications should include advisor’s statement of support as well as an invitation from the proposed international host institution.(e-mailed to )
Final Report:
Within one month of completion of the internship, students must submit a report (see attached form) to Jody Lally ( .

Any publications or presentations supported by IGERT funding must acknowledge the NSF-sponsored “IGERT: Offshore Wind Energy Engineering, Environmental Science, and Policy” program
(NSF DGE-1068864).
