Lesson Plans for September 12th-16th

SPI 0607.2.1 Classify organisms as producers, consumers, scavengers, or

decomposers according to their role in a food chain or food web.

SPI 0607.2.2 Interpret how materials and energy are transferred through an

ecosystem.

SPI 0607.2.4 Identify the environmental conditions and interdependencies among organisms found

in the major biomes.

Monday- We will begin our discussion on biomes. We will work on 2-3 biomes per day and will complete a graphic organizer that will be placed into their Science notebook upon completion. Students need to bring in a shoe box (or similar size box approx. 12 “x12”) by Friday September 16th for our biome cube project. They will receive 5 bonus points if it comes to school already wrapped in white paper.

Tuesday- We will continue our discussion on biomes. We will work on 2-3 biomes per day and will complete a graphic organizer that will be placed into their Science notebook upon completion. Students will receive the rubric today that will explain all the aspects and expectations for biome cube project. They will also receive their assigned biome today so that they can begin research outside of class.

Some student may need to conduct research and gather materials outside of class in order to complete within this time frame. Students will use the rubric to ensure they have all required information.
