ANNOUNCEMENTS

Unit 2 Assessmentsfor OCR must be administered before the winter break. The data is not due in SOAR until January.

Parent Conferences-If any parent missed their conference appointment, you must conduct a telephone conference. We are required, as a PHBAO school, to conduct a minimum of two parent conferences annually. Please document your telephone conference on the parent conference sign-in form. Turn in progress reports to the office to be mailed home. Do not give progress reports to students.

Surge Protector Recall- Belkin International Inc. is recalling SurgeMaster Surge Protectors due to shock hazard. You can also go to the web site

Secure School Site During Breaks- Be sure to close and secure all classroom windows and doors, lock valuables in cabinets, take home personal items and laptops, lock desks and cabinets, turn off HVAC system, and unplug any non-essential electronic devices during the winter break. The school will be unavailable 12/19 through 1/10 due to the office flooring project, so please take anything you want to work on home. No one will be allowed access due to the project.

Custodial Cleaning Schedule-Daily, in all rooms: Paper & debris picked up, furniture aligned, floors spot mopped, heating/A/C off, blinds adjusted, whiteboard trays, sinks, soap dispensers and wastebaskets cleaned, wastebaskets emptied, and doors locked. Every other Day: Full sweeping and vacuuming. Dusting is once every 3 weeks. If you need additional vacuuming or extra cleaning, please notify M.Larane in writing so that he can plan to get it done on Sundays. If you feel that your room has not been thoroughly cleaned, please notify M. Larane & M. Pierce immediately. We want to ensure that classrooms are clean and ready for students each day.

Parking Lot-Staff parking passes will be issued to help us keep the staff parking lot available to staff. Please put the pass in your back window. We will be parking closer together to fit more vehicles in the lot. You do not need to stay inside the white lines, so park as close to your neighbor car as possible.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE – Please put a note in with your attendance cards every Friday morning when your class has had perfect attendance for the week. Three weeks of Perfect Attendance equals one hour of planning time for you and an ice cream treat for students!

Math Updates-The Princeton review is now CORE K12 and the new website is . Please save this website so you can enter your students’ quarterly math scores if necessary. For information, research, and updates about math instruction, visit and the new MIG is aligned with the enVision math series and is available for download at 4th 5th grade students must use answer sheets for quarterly assessments-do not allow students to write in test booklets.

UCLA DOCTOR OF EDUCATION (ED.D.) IN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP

Applications are now being accepted for UCLA’s Ed.D. Cohort for Fall 2010. Educational Leadership Program (ELP) is seeking applicants who are committed to improving educational practice. Each cohort embarks on a three-year experience that they do together in a student-supported environment withoutstanding UCLA faculty and expert practitioners. Since 1993, more than 265 students have graduated. Many are helping to improve educational outcomes as administrators within school sites and district offices. Each cohort of 25 – 30 students includes a variety of accomplished educators. Courses arescheduled for one evening per week and Saturdays.
