GUIDELINES: 3-D “Caring for God’s Resources”
1. Use one 8 ½” x 11” white computer paper for the typed environmental statement
Use one 12” x 18” sheet of colored construction paper for mounting your 3-D object and statement
2. Use only original artwork to express the “Caring for God’s Resources” theme
* BE creative
* Use materials effectively
* NO use of copyrighted “figures” (Mickey Mouse, G.I. Joe, Garfield, Barbie, Super heroes, etc…)
3. The “object” of your verb and/or statement MUST BE three dimensional (3-D)
4. Use materials for the 3-D effect that are inexpensive, small in size, LIGHT, and WILL ADHERE to a
construction paper surface:
* ribbon, tongue depressors, cotton balls, cut or rolled paper, fabric, string, yarn, etc…
5. Make your 3-D object “EYE CATCHING,” large enough to FILL HALF of the 12”x18” construction
paper, and secure so it will stay attached when your project is HANGING on a classroom wall.
6. Your poster’s environmental statement must be:
* “ONE” imperative (request, command, order) sentence [starts with an ACTION verb]
* TYPED: must use Times New Roman font style
· Action VERB (1st word in statement; Font size = 72; black ink only; ALL capitalized letters; BOLD print)
· All other words in statement (Font size = 48; black ink only, not capitalized; not bold)
* “1” sentence statement needs to be centered on 8½” x 11” white computer paper.
* “1” sentence statement, the words need to be “centered justified” (NOT left or right justified)
* check accuracy in the spelling of ALL words in your “1” sentence
* check accuracy of grammar (sentence structure, capitalization and punctuation)
* do NOT use state-of-being verbs (e.g. am, is, are, was, etc…) OR the verbs “do, does, don’t
7. Mount your 3-D object and environmental statement on a sheet of 12” x 18” construction paper
8. On the BACK side of the construction paper complete and paste this 3 line heading with the SLE’s
SLE: A – 3, 4 NAME______#___
B – 2-5 P-___ Sci – Caring for God’s Resources – PROJECT
C – 2, 4, 5 DATE______
9. Presentation must be neat, creative, and it gets the THEME across following all the directions above.
10. DUE: ______
