Greetings from the Director VIP Sandy Kousman:
Greeting: Hope everyone that attended Department in Beaumont had a great time and made it home safely. I would like to welcome all new members to our Echelon. I want to thank all my officers in advance for all your hard work. I have faith that this will be a good year for all. Thank you for allowing me to serve at your VIP this year.
2010 Membership:
Again, Welcome new members Grace E. Brewer, Henderson, Tx., Sarah G. Mendez, Houston, Tx., and Teresa Schulte, Kaplan, Tx. Membership is now due. Our goal for this year will be 70. We have 32 paid members for 2010. Please submit your dues of $20.00 for renewals and $30.00 for new members as soon as possible to Janet Martin, 15935 Watering Point Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78247-5624. Her number is 210-490-4098. More women are becoming active in the American Legion. Why not ask them to join the Twenty and Four?
Sick Call:
Please keep Patsy Carroll in your prayers. We wish her well and hopes she has a speedy recovery. Patsy Palmquist is doing well although she lost younger son. Keep them in your prayers too.
Sales Table:
We will have the table open at the Mid Winter Convention Center. As you know the donations we receive from the table are what we use to help hospitalized women veterans. The more money we can make the more women we can help. I am asking all of you that are available, to volunteer for an hour or two during the Mid Winter Conference in Austin to help work at the table. And please stop by and see the interesting things we have for sale. I would like to thank June Ator and Shirley Rogers for your donations for the table.
Bivouac:
Our next Bivouac will be held during the Mid Winter Conference in Austin, Texas at the Omni Austin Southpark Hotel on January 19 – 23, 2011. I hope you will be able to attend.
National Bivouac:
I am unable to attend the National Bivouac in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – August 27 to September 2, 1020 but I am anxious to receive reports from those of you that attended. I will include those reports in the next newsletter. There will be 5 members of Echelon 31 attending including National Director Connie Jo Popham. Have fun everyone.
